Christian Bauer is the world’s only manufacturer to produce pump vanes in miniature dimensions. The company launched a series production of pre- cision parts for vane cell pumps used in vehicle power-assisted steering systems in the year 1965. As this type of pump is sealed on a no-contact basis, i.e. over minimal gaps, at pressures which can exceed 100 bar, these products are required to demonstrate pinpoint pre- cision in terms of evenness, parallelism, angular and dimensional stability and also surface roughness, with tolerances in the µm range. Dimensions are frequently divided into dimension groups with tolerances of < 2 µm. |
